Chapter 83
Nicole looked down and fiddled with her mobile phone, her voice cold and direct.
“Hand things over and apologize.” Her beauty, which was naturally striking, took on an even more intimidating edge.
Her sharp eyes, tilted upwards, exuded an icy aura that made her appear dignified and formidable.
The girls before her, now shaken by her gaze, trembled in fear.
They had never expected Nicole to find them so quickly, and the shock left them momentarily stunned.
The other two girls kept stealing glances at the fat girl, who was visibly sweating from nervousness.
Finally, the fat girl, trying to mask her fear, blurted out, “I don’t understand what you’re saying.
But you broke into our dormitory and disturbed our sleep.
We’ll tell the teacher! You’re not welcome here.
Get out!” Her words were filled with false bravado.
Though it was clearly the fat girl who had broken into Nicole’s dorm and stolen things, she had the audacity to threaten them.
Lulu and June’s patience finally snapped.
Their anger flared as they glared at the fat girl, who responded with a defiant stare.
She felt no remorse for her actions.
The three girls had no idea how Nicole had managed to gather evidence so quickly, thinking that without the surveillance footage from the Security Department, they were safe.
Even if Nicole reported it, the footage would likely have been erased by the time the police arrived.
The fat girl stood tall, trying to shake off the unease she felt.
She wasn’t sure how Nicole had found them, but she was confident that there was no concrete evidence to expose them.
They hadn’t stolen much, and in her mind, Nicole could do nothing about it.
Recalling how Nicole had kicked her last time, she kept a safe distance, determined not to let Nicole touch her again.
The fat girl’s false confidence seemed to bolster the other two girls, who crossed their arms and stood in solidarity with her, their expressions defiant.
Nicole’s lips curled into a sneer as she observed their arrogance.
“Do you really think I’ve come to you without evidence?” The fat girl, her voice dripping with mockery, laughed.
“We’re innocent! Don’t try to accuse us without proof.
Who do you think you are, threatening us like that? Open your eyes.
We’re third-year students.
We’ve seen plenty of brats like you.
Go back to your dorm and deal with it!” Despite their previous caution with Nicole after the last incident, they had received a call from Raine the night before, offering them a tempting deal they couldn’t resist.
Initially, they’d planned to make a scene in Nicole’s dorm again, but knowing her reputation for self-defense, they opted to steal instead, believing it would be easier and less risky.
They had initially hoped to steal valuable items from Nicole’s dorm.
But after searching, they found nothing of worth except some foreign language books, which they deemed too obvious to steal.
So, they took Lulu and June’s expensive-looking jewelry instead.
They had laughed to themselves, assuming that Nicole and her roommates would never notice the theft.
But then, in a turn of fate, Nicole stormed in and confronted them, as though she had known all along what they had done.
Now, the three girls stood sheepishly before Nicole, but with no proof on her side, they were prepared to deny everything.
Nicole said nothing more, instead turning on the screen of her phone and waving it in front of them.
“Open your eyes and see what this is.” The fat girl, initially unfazed, froze when she saw the video playing on the phone.
Her disbelief was written all over her face.
The other two girls, noticing the sudden change in the fat girl’s expression, quickly moved to look at the phone as well.
The color drained from their faces as they watched the footage.
The video clearly showed the three of them sneaking into Nicole’s room, stealing the jewelry, and leaving in a hurry.
The fat girl’s bravado crumbled as the truth was laid bare.
The girls had been caught red-handed, and there was no escaping the evidence now.
