Chapter 56
Spencer quickly glanced at Norah and whispered, “Since Nicole likes grilled fish, we thought of taking her to the best place to eat.”
Nicole, though his voice was soft, overheard it.
She hadn’t expected the two brothers to be so considerate, and their actions touched her.
Slowly but surely, she was warming up to their kindness.
“Thank you, Samuel, Spencer.
This meal will be on me,” she said, as it was her choice to eat grilled fish.
“No,” Samuel replied immediately, sitting up straighter.
“How can we let our younger sister pay? Your job today is to eat, and it’s on me.”
“Since this is the case, thank you so much.” Nicole smiled, not being able to refuse their kind gestures, no matter what.
“It’s very expensive here.
I guess you couldn’t afford it, Nicole.” Norah mocked.
“Don’t worry, Norah.
I have my brothers here.” Nicole smiled, effortlessly deflecting Norah’s taunt, hitting her where it hurt the most.
Norah’s expression darkened.
Her jealousy grew as her brothers’ attention shifted entirely to Nicole.
It was clear how much she valued their attention, and seeing Nicole take it all away made her feel miserable.
While waiting for the food, Samuel smiled at Nicole.
“Spencer and I heard you’re taking the Olympiad exams, so we decided to treat you to a nice meal as encouragement.”
When Norah heard this, she scoffed.
“You’re taking the Maths Olympiad? It’s a tough competition.
Are your results even good enough?”
Their class, Class A, had a few top students taking the exam, and Norah hadn’t been selected.
So, she found it hard to believe that Nicole, a “country girl,” could even be in the running.
“Do you even know what the Maths Olympiad is?” she mocked.
Samuel, unfazed by Norah’s sarcasm, stood proudly and said, “Of course! Don’t forget, Nicole is the daughter of the Riddle family, and she’s more than capable of competing in the Maths Olympiad.”
As they talked, the food arrived.
Spencer, with thoughtful attention, served Nicole a slice of grilled fish.
“Try it.
This part tastes great.”
“Thank you, Spencer.” Nicole, feeling deeply touched, accepted the plate.
She had never been treated with such care before.
But Norah, watching the two brothers shower Nicole with attention, couldn’t contain her jealousy.
The same treatment she used to receive was now directed toward Nicole.
She clenched her fists, feeling the burning desire to storm out, but just as she was about to explode, someone walked in.
‘Isn’t she from the Holmes family?’ Norah thought, recognizing her.
She didn’t attend Class B but had heard about the incident in the morning.
To her surprise, she now saw Snow’s friend here.
It felt like fate was on her side.
With this thought in mind, Norah called out to Nicole.
“This dish also tastes good.
Try it.”
Her voice successfully drew the attention of Ashley, who looked startled when she saw Nicole.
Ashley breathed a sigh of relief once she noticed Nicole wasn’t paying attention to her.
Her parents had noticed her bad mood and brought her out to dinner, but she hadn’t expected to run into Nicole here.
‘What a small world,’ she thought, though she couldn’t help but feel a pang of resentment.
Watching Samuel and Spencer fawn over Nicole made her feel even worse.
How could a “country girl” like Nicole afford to dine at such an expensive restaurant? And not only that, but she was also surrounded by two handsome, well-known brothers.
Watching Samuel smile at Nicole, Ashley couldn’t shake the feeling that Nicole was seducing both of them.
‘This transfer student…’
