Chapter 80
Norah collapsed onto her bed, feeling a mix of resentment and indignation.
“Raine is so stupid,” she muttered, her thoughts darkening further.
“I should start with Snow.” At least Snow had some brains and wouldn’t drag her down with her.
With a sneer, Norah took out her phone and quickly typed a message to Snow.
Meanwhile, in the Riddle mansion, Snow’s phone buzzed with a notification.
She opened the message, which contained only a few words, but those words made her heart leap with excitement.
Harvey will arrive in San Joto tomorrow.
Snow couldn’t contain her joy.
She quickly replied with a grateful thank you and then lay back on the bed, her mind racing.
The thought of Harvey Ellison returning made her unable to sleep.
Eagerly, she pulled out outfits from her closet, trying to figure out which one would make the best impression.
As Snow was sorting through her clothes, Karen, wearing a silk nightie, happened to walk by and overheard the noise.
With a disapproving frown, she poked her head through the door and said, “What’s got you so restless on a weekend night? Where are you going, dressed like that?” Snow paused, then turned with a smile and said, “Mom, Harvey’s coming back to San Joto tomorrow.” She lowered her head, shyly anticipating her mother’s reaction.
Karen’s eyes lit up at the mention of Harvey’s name, her expression shifting to one of delight.
“Harvey’s coming back? Well, you need to dress up properly.
What do you need? Tell me, and I’ll get it for you.
You’re my most outstanding daughter.
Remember, do everything you can to make Harvey yours.” Karen was clearly thrilled, and she hurried back to her room, returning with a beautiful diamond necklace in her hand.
“Take this.
Wear it when you see Harvey.
It’s worth twenty million dollars, so don’t lose it.”
Snow took the necklace, her eyes gleaming with a dim light.
“Don’t worry, Mom.
I’ll wear it and won’t lose it,” she whispered, her voice soft with gratitude.
Karen beamed with pride, her confidence in Snow unwavering.
Snow had always been the child she worried about least.
From a young age, Snow had been trained to be the perfect aristocrat—elegant, composed, and skilled in the arts.
Even though Snow had told her that Harvey was interested in her, Karen couldn’t fully believe it.
The Ellison family was a powerful force in San Joto, far beyond the reach of the Riddle family.
If Harvey truly liked Snow, it would elevate Dillon’s status within Riddle Corporation.
Over time, Karen had come to believe it, and now, she was eager for Snow to solidify the connection.
To show her commitment, she even handed Snow her most precious jewelry: the diamond necklace, which was not only expensive but also deeply sentimental.
It was the only piece from Karen’s maiden family, an heirloom passed down with love and care.
Karen looked at Snow fondly.
“Make sure you maintain a good image at school.
Keep a firm hold on Harvey.” Snow nodded, her determination growing.
She returned to trying on outfits, while Karen joined in, helping her match clothes and handbags.
Back at home, Nicole could no longer bear the noise of the bustling Riddle mansion.
The constant presence of servants was distracting her, hindering her ability to study effectively.
After much deliberation, she decided to speak to Gloria and Daniel.
Though they felt sad about her leaving, they understood the importance of her studies and agreed to let her return to campus.
Nicole was finally back at the Royal Creek Institute, and the campus was buzzing with activity.
Many students had stayed on campus for the weekend, so it was crowded.
Outside the entrance, a bright blue motorcycle was parked at the side of the road, catching everyone’s eye with its flashy, cool design.
Groups of girls nearby couldn’t help but gossip in hushed voices.
“What luck are we having now? Harvey’s coming back soon.
Even Preston Riddle has shown up at the school.
It’s so exciting!”
“Preston Riddle?” Snow heard the name, and it seemed familiar, but she couldn’t immediately place it.
She looked over toward the motorcycle, wondering what other surprises the day might hold.
