Chapter 65
Nicole stood still, her gaze icy as she watched the fat girl scramble to her feet.
The entire scene had unfolded so quickly that it left everyone around her stunned.
Lulu and June were wide-eyed, unsure of how to react to Nicole’s sudden action.
The fat girl was still rubbing her back, wincing from the impact, but her expression quickly morphed from pain to fury.
Nicole didn’t respond immediately.
She slowly straightened up, holding the book in one hand, her eyes cold as she stared at the fat girl.
“You crossed the line,” she said, her voice steady and unyielding.
The fat girl’s anger flared.
She glared at Nicole, her face turning red with rage.
“You—” she began, her voice trembling with fury.
“You’ll regret this! You think you can get away with this? I’ll make sure you pay!”
Nicole raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a subtle, disdainful smile.
“Pay? For what? Defending myself against your nonsense?” She took a step forward, her eyes never leaving the fat girl’s face.
“I don’t think you understand who you’re messing with.”
The fat girl, still seething, took a step back, her hands balled into fists at her sides.
“You think you can scare me? You’re nothing but a zero-scorer with a bad attitude!” she spat.
Nicole’s eyes flickered briefly to the scorecard that had fallen to the ground, the large zero mocking her.
She picked it up, tearing it in half and letting the pieces fall to the floor.
“This,” she said, looking at the fat girl with an air of finality, “is just a piece of paper.”
Lulu and June stood frozen, the tension in the air so thick that it felt like it could snap at any moment.
The fat girl’s face twisted in disbelief at Nicole’s nonchalant attitude.
She had expected Nicole to cower, to apologize, or at least show some fear.
But instead, Nicole’s calm demeanor only seemed to infuriate her more.
“You—” The fat girl began, but her words were cut off by Nicole’s sharp gaze.
“Don’t make me repeat myself,” Nicole warned quietly.
Her voice was low but carried an undeniable weight, one that made even the fat girl hesitate for a moment.
She could see the fire in Nicole’s eyes, the kind of fire that made her rethink her approach.
But before the confrontation could escalate any further, a voice came from the hallway.
“What’s going on here?”
It was a teacher, a middle-aged woman who had come to check on the noise.
The fat girl quickly turned, trying to mask her anger with a false smile.
“Nothing, just a little disagreement.
No big deal.”
Nicole, however, wasn’t about to let the situation slide.
She stepped forward, addressing the teacher directly.
“This girl has been bullying us for no reason, deducting points and confiscating our belongings without cause.
She even dared to hit me first,” Nicole said, her voice calm but firm.
She held up the broken pieces of the scorecard as proof of the confrontation.
The teacher’s eyes widened at the sight of the torn scorecard and the tension in the room.
She looked between Nicole and the fat girl, her expression turning serious.
“I see.
We’ll handle this.”
The fat girl’s face turned pale, realizing that her intimidation tactics had backfired.
She opened her mouth to protest, but the teacher raised a hand, silencing her.
“You will come with me to the principal’s office,” the teacher instructed, her tone unwavering.
The fat girl’s face darkened, but she didn’t argue.
Instead, she shot Nicole a venomous glare before following the teacher down the hallway, her two companions trailing behind her.
Lulu and June stared at Nicole in awe, both shocked and impressed by how effortlessly she had turned the situation around.
They had never seen her act like this before, and it was clear that she wasn’t someone to be underestimated.
Nicole turned to them, a slight smile playing on her lips.
“I don’t like bullies,” she said simply.
Lulu and June exchanged looks, their respect for Nicole growing even more.
They had always known there was something about her, but seeing her stand her ground so fiercely made them realize just how strong she really was.
As they gathered their things and began to leave the room, Nicole glanced back at the spot where the fat girl had been moments before.
“This isn’t over,” she murmured to herself, her eyes cold and determined.
She had made her point, but there was a feeling deep inside her that told her this wouldn’t be the last time she would have to face someone like the fat girl.
But for now, Nicole was ready to move on.
She had shown that she wouldn’t back down, no matter who tried to push her around.
