Chapter_88
Alyssa’s eyes narrowed, her expression turning steely as she stood up. “Betty Beckett? Of course, she’d cause trouble. Let me handle this.”
She turned to Sean, her tone now commanding. “Go to the lobby and keep her occupied. I’ll deal with the rest.”
Sean gave a quick nod, his face tight with concern. “I’ll go right away.”
Alyssa took a deep breath, straightening her clothes before heading toward the elevator. Her mind was already working on a plan to handle Betty’s latest stunt. There was no way she would let Betty cause trouble at her hotel without consequences.
As she walked through the grand lobby, Alyssa spotted Betty standing near the check-in desk, flanked by two of her friends. The sight of Betty—always so poised, but now radiating a sense of entitlement—made Alyssa’s blood boil.
She approached calmly, her heels clicking softly against the marble floor. “Betty,” Alyssa called out coolly, her voice full of authority. “What seems to be the problem?”
Betty turned around, her eyes instantly lighting up with mock surprise. “Alyssa,” she said sweetly, though the underlying venom was clear in her tone. “I was just telling your staff here that one of your housekeepers stole from me. My personal belongings went missing in my suite!”
Alyssa took a step closer, her gaze unwavering. “You know, Betty, your accusations are as absurd as your behavior. I’ve heard about your party in the presidential suite. The housekeeping staff has been nothing but professional, and I highly doubt anything was stolen.”
Betty’s eyes flashed with anger, but Alyssa didn’t flinch. She knew exactly how to play this game.
“You can’t just throw your weight around and make baseless claims to get attention,” Alyssa continued. “If you really think something’s gone missing, why don’t you check with your ‘friends’ who were there all night with you? Perhaps they can help you find it.”
Betty’s face reddened with humiliation, but she tried to recover. “I’m not here to argue with you, Alyssa. I want this dealt with properly. I expect an apology from your staff.”
Alyssa smiled, but it was all sharp edges. “I think you owe the staff an apology for wasting their time, Betty. I’ll have the suite thoroughly cleaned and sanitized—at my expense, of course—since it seems you and your friends didn’t mind leaving quite the mess.”
Betty’s mouth opened in shock as Alyssa turned on her heel and walked back toward the elevator without another word.
As the elevator doors closed, Alyssa took out her phone and sent a message to her management team: Handle the situation quietly, and make sure Betty’s stay is memorable for all the wrong reasons.
She leaned against the elevator wall, feeling the weight of the situation start to lift. It was a small victory, but it was enough for now. She had more important matters to attend to—things that didn’t involve the petty drama of the Beckett family.
When the elevator reached her floor, Alyssa stepped out with a sense of resolve. It was time to focus on making KS World Hotel a success. She didn’t have room for anything less.
