Chapter 73
Flynn flashed a grin, intrigued by the interaction.
Jim’s eyes narrowed, his expression darkening by the second.
Bonnie, noticing the man still hadn’t left, gave him a suspicious glance. “Can I help you with something?” Wasn’t he here just for the chocolate?
Flynn brushed a stray lock of hair from his forehead and gave what he thought was a charming smile. “The name’s Flynn. I was there when you got engaged to Ivor, my cousin.”
Bonnie blinked, her tone indifferent. “Oh. I don’t recall noticing you.”
Flynn took a step closer to her, his presence growing more intense.
Alarm flashed across Bonnie’s face. Was he trying to get closer with some ulterior motive? “Is there something you want from me?”
Ivor’s face darkened, his patience thinning. As he started to move toward them, Ged blocked his path.
“Why don’t we go for a car ride after the party, Ivor? White and the gang have already left.” Ged grinned, trying to ease the situation.
“You’re blocking my view,” Ivor muttered, his eyes still fixed on Bonnie and Flynn.
Ged looked confused at first, then followed Ivor’s gaze, seeing Bonnie and Flynn standing together. His expression turned serious. “What are they doing? That cousin of yours doesn’t have the cleanest reputation. You think he’s trying something funny with your fiancée? Think she’s too attractive for him to resist?”
The temperature in the room seemed to drop at Ged’s words. When he turned to Ivor, he found the latter’s expression icy, not a trace of humor in it.
Ged raised an eyebrow. “Look at you, getting all worked up. Guess you really have fallen for Bonnie.”
Ivor didn’t respond. Instead, he pressed his lips together in silence.
Ged took his silence as a confirmation. He chuckled, but it was clear there was a deeper tension between them now.
Flynn, on the other hand, continued to boldly assess Bonnie, his gaze drifting over her with a certain hunger. Her skin, pale and delicate like porcelain, the soft curve of her exposed shoulders, and her graceful, slender figure—all of it seemed to call out to him. She had legs that looked like they belonged on a supermodel, barely hidden beneath her dress. Her eyes, sparkling with fire, only heightened the allure.
Bonnie’s sharp eyes locked onto him, her voice seething with animosity. “I’d gouge your eyes out if you weren’t related to Grandpa.”
Flynn smirked. “Hehehe… just like I expected from the woman who went head-to-head with Aunt Maisie. Feisty. I love it.”
“You seem like the type who can find trouble anywhere,” Bonnie said, her tone growing colder.
“Don’t be like that. I don’t mean you any harm. Anyway, Ivor’s probably been giving you a hard time, hasn’t he? You’ve spent quite a bit of time with him, and I imagine you’ve taken the brunt of his temper,” Flynn said, his voice smooth, as though he were making small talk.
Bonnie’s expression hardened. “That’s just how he is. He doesn’t treat women well. None of the women who’ve approached him have been his type. But you know, I think he either can’t get it up at all, or he has no interest in women.”
Bonnie’s eyes widened, her voice cold and sharp. “What exactly are you trying to say to me?”
