Chapter 60
“Impressive, Bonnie. Given the circumstances, I can’t believe you’re still so calm.” Sacha’s voice dripped with sarcasm.
Bonnie, clearly uninterested, responded with a sigh, “If you’re just here to spout nonsense, I’m not interested. Get to the point.”
Sacha’s expression darkened, a mix of anger and something else simmering beneath her surface. “Don’t you realize? Your life is in my hands now. How dare you speak to me like that?”
Bonnie, her face indifferent, simply shrugged. “You’re still rambling.”
“Why you little…” Sacha’s fury boiled over, but she quickly reined it in, remembering her purpose. She took a deep breath before continuing, “Listen closely, Bonnie. Stay away from Dwayne.”
So, this was what it was all about. Bonnie couldn’t help but let out a short, amused laugh. “Are you sure you’ve got your facts straight? Dwayne was the one who tried to make a move on me. He’s from a rich family, likes to dress well, but underneath it all, he’s just a useless bastard. Honestly, I’m disgusted by him. He’s slept with more women than I can count. Don’t worry though—I’ll never try to take him from you.”
Sacha’s eyes blazed with fury. “How dare you talk about him like that!”
Bonnie shook her head slowly, her tone mocking. “Am I wrong? I refuse to believe you don’t know exactly what kind of man he is. You could fill an entire cruise ship with the women he’s been with.”
Sacha’s lips trembled in anger, but Bonnie wasn’t finished. “What confuses me, though, is why you’d want someone like him. You’re a decent student with a decent family. Why would you throw it all away for a man like him? Don’t you feel disgusted when you’re with him?”
Sacha’s anger boiled over, and she stepped forward, her fists clenched. “I know exactly what you’re trying to do. You’re trying to make me feel small by calling the man I want ‘trash.’ You think you’re better than me, don’t you? You want to humiliate me before you steal him for yourself!”
Bonnie couldn’t help but shake her head, her tone exasperated. “You’re just… so clueless. You have everything ahead of you, but you’re throwing it all away for that pig.”
“Did you just call me stupid?” Sacha’s voice was low and dangerous.
Bonnie raised an eyebrow. “Am I wrong? You’ve got a bright future, but you’re squandering it over someone who’s nothing but a mess.”
Sacha’s face turned red with anger. “You! One last time, Bonnie, will you leave Dwayne alone? Are you trying to take my place as his future wife?”
Bonnie made a sound of disdain, not even bothering to look back as she turned to leave.
“Stop!” Sacha screamed, her voice filled with fury.
But Bonnie kept walking, ignoring her completely.
Sacha’s anger flared, and she snapped. “Hey! Stop her, all of you! If she doesn’t cooperate, beat her up! There are no cameras here, so it’s fine.”
In an instant, the men Sacha had hired surrounded Bonnie. They were armed, their expressions cold.
“We don’t really want to do this, pretty lady, but we need the cash,” one of the men said apologetically.
Bonnie didn’t flinch. “If you’re looking for a fight, come at me. I’m ready.”
The man smirked. “You’ve got a lot of nerve. No wonder you’re making Ms. Sacha so mad.”
“Let’s teach her a lesson, boys. She’s asking for it.” Another man grinned as they moved in.
Bonnie’s eyes narrowed. Without any hesitation, she took them down one by one in seconds. The hired goons barely had a chance to react before they were on the ground, groaning in defeat.
Sacha watched in shock, her eyes wide. She knew Bonnie was skilled—she had seen her throw Dwayne over her shoulder earlier—but these were professional fighters she had hired. Yet, Bonnie had handled them as easily as if they were nothing.
Just as Bonnie turned to leave, the unmistakable wail of police sirens split the air. Before anyone could react, a team of officers stormed the scene, surrounding them from all sides.
