Chapter 31
Bonnie squinted as Halle tried to slap her, and without hesitation, she raised her hand and pinched Halle’s arm.
“Let me go, you bitch!” Halle shrieked, her voice full of fury. “How dare you fight back when you’re the one who insulted me! You’re nothing but a pathetic nobody. How dare you?”
Bonnie’s expression remained cold as she applied more pressure to Halle’s arm. It began to creak, bending in unnatural directions.
“Ouch! Eek! That hurts! My arm’s going to break! Bonnie, you bitch, I’m ordering you to stop!” Halle yelped in pain, but Bonnie only tightened her grip.
Rowena, who had been watching in stunned silence, finally spoke up, her voice tinged with desperation. “Don’t do anything rash, Bonnie. She’s one of the Knights. If you hurt her for real, they won’t let it slide, and even Mr. Sigmund won’t be able to cover for you!”
Bonnie’s eyes narrowed as she stared at Rowena. “Are you threatening me? I’ve never backed down from a threat.”
With that, Bonnie pressed down harder.
Crack! The sound of Halle’s arm dislocating echoed in the room, and Halle screamed at the top of her lungs.
“Arghh!” she cried, writhing in pain.
Rowena, wide-eyed, was at a loss for words. She hadn’t thought Bonnie would actually do it. What a terrible woman!
Bonnie locked eyes with Halle, her expression cold and calculating. “I’ll give you one last chance. Apologize, or I’ll do more than dislocate your arm. I’ll ruin it.”
Halle, her face contorted with both pain and fear, realized that Bonnie wasn’t bluffing. The look in her eyes was enough to make her stop thinking about fighting back.
With gritted teeth and tears threatening to spill, Halle forced herself to speak. “I’m sorry…”
Bonnie’s gaze darkened as she eyed Halle’s other arm. “Tell me again. Who’s the bitch?”
Halle’s fear grew as Bonnie’s fingers twitched, ready to strike again.
“Bonnie Shepard! Don’t go too far! Otherwise, I’ll…” Halle started, but before she could finish, the sound of Crack! Crack! rang out as Bonnie broke her other arm with a single movement.
“I’m sorry! Forgive me! It’s me! I’m the bitch!” Halle begged pitifully, her face wet with tears.
Bonnie shoved her away with such force that Halle stumbled backward and collapsed to the ground. She sprawled out, sobbing, her earlier arrogance completely shattered.
Rowena rushed to her side, concern written all over her face. “Are you okay, Halle?”
Halle clutched her arms in pain, her voice trembling. “It hurts so much! I think she broke my arm.”
Rowena, livid with anger, whirled on Bonnie, her face flushed with fury. “You’re so cruel, Bonnie! How could you treat Halle like this? She’s just a girl!”
Bonnie’s eyes glinted with warning as she cracked her knuckles. “What’s the matter? Do you want a taste of this too?”
Rowena hesitated, the memory of Bonnie’s ruthless actions making her step back. She took a deep breath, then reached into her bag, pulling out a check. “Here’s five million dollars. Take it. The only condition is you have to stay away from Ivor.”
Bonnie raised an eyebrow, studying the check in Rowena’s hand. The amount was certainly tempting, but her gaze never wavered from Rowena. “You think money can solve everything?” she asked coldly.
Rowena’s face flushed with frustration, but she didn’t back down. “Take the money, and leave Ivor alone. He doesn’t belong with someone like you.”
Bonnie’s lips twisted into a small smile. “And if I refuse?”
“Then I’ll make sure Ivor never sees you again,” Rowena snapped, her patience wearing thin.
Bonnie’s smile faded, but she didn’t say anything. She simply turned and walked away, leaving Rowena standing there with a silent promise hanging in the air.
