Chapter 71
Victor’s mind was racing as he made the decision to help Eden, not just out of generosity, but out of a deeper, unspoken connection he felt with her. The more time he spent with her, the more he realized that she was someone worth protecting. He couldn’t ignore the pull he felt toward her, nor the sense of responsibility that had settled in his chest.
He wasn’t just offering her a home; he was offering her peace of mind—something she truly deserved after everything she had been through. He knew that a second-hand house would never be enough for Eden and her children, especially when he had the means to give her something better.
As he sent the message to Adonis, he couldn’t help but smile to himself. This was more than just a business deal. This was something personal, something that went beyond what he had intended. He had always been a man of practicality, but Eden had a way of softening his resolve.
When Victor turned around to face her, he saw her watching him, her eyes thoughtful, as if she was trying to understand why he was so insistent on helping her. He walked back towards her, his expression serious yet kind.
“Miss Bleu,” he said, his tone firm but gentle, “I want to make sure you and your children are taken care of. I insist we look at the villas, even if you feel it’s beyond your reach. You deserve a place like that. A new beginning, not something secondhand.”
Eden was taken aback by his words. She had always been the one to shoulder the weight of everything—her children, her responsibilities, her dreams—but hearing Victor say this, with such conviction, made her wonder if perhaps she had been too proud to ask for help.
“I understand your hesitation,” Victor continued, “but think about your future. Think about what your children deserve.”
Eden bit her lip, considering his words. She had always thought of herself as independent, but maybe—just maybe—it was time to accept a little help. She had worked so hard to get to where she was, but the burden of trying to do it all alone had taken its toll.
She smiled at him, her expression softer now. “Alright, Mr. Alwynn. If you insist. But I’m not sure about the price…”
Victor’s lips twitched into a half-smile. “Let’s worry about that later. For now, let’s find the right place for you and your children.”
Eden nodded, a small flicker of hope rising in her chest. Maybe this wouldn’t be as impossible as she had thought.
Victor led the way to his car, and as they drove through the city, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation. He had made his decision, and he wasn’t going to let anything get in the way of helping Eden. There was something about her—a quiet strength—that had captivated him, and he wasn’t about to let her settle for less than she deserved.
As they arrived at the villa area, Eden’s eyes widened at the sight of the beautiful two-story homes. Each villa stood tall and proud, a symbol of luxury and comfort. She had never imagined she would be standing here, looking at homes like these. But as she glanced at Victor, who was speaking to the realtor on the phone, she realized that maybe, just maybe, this dream wasn’t as far out of reach as she had once believed.
Victor returned to her side with a reassuring smile. “Let’s take a look inside. I want to make sure it feels right for you.”
Eden nodded, her heart pounding with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. This could be the beginning of something new—something that she had only dared to dream of before.
As they toured the villa, Eden felt a sense of awe at the spacious rooms, the modern amenities, and the breathtaking view. She could already picture her children running around in the backyard, their laughter filling the air. This was the kind of home she had always wanted to provide for them, but never thought she could afford.
Victor was observant, watching her reactions closely. He could tell that Eden was trying to hold herself back, not wanting to get too attached to something she might never be able to afford. But he wasn’t going to let her sell herself short.
“You like it?” he asked, his voice low and sincere.
Eden turned to face him, a small smile tugging at her lips. “It’s beautiful,” she whispered. “But I don’t know if I can… afford something like this.”
Victor stepped closer, his gaze steady and unwavering. “You don’t have to worry about that, Eden. I’ve already taken care of it. Consider it my gift to you and your children.”
Eden’s eyes widened in shock. “What? No, Mr. Alwynn, I can’t accept that.”
“You can,” Victor replied softly, his tone gentle but firm. “You’ve worked hard enough. You deserve it.”
Eden was speechless, her emotions swirling in a whirlwind. She didn’t know what to say, how to react. This was more than she had ever expected.
Victor placed a hand gently on her shoulder. “I’ll make sure everything is taken care of. All you need to do is move in and make it your home.”
As Eden stood there, feeling a rush of gratitude and disbelief, she realized that her life was about to change in ways she had never imagined. And it was all because of Victor—someone who had seen her not just as an employee or a single mother, but as someone worthy of having it all.
